Cheap light wingboards, who needs foam

Postby PrfctChaos » Sun Apr 18, 2021 11:30 am

I thought this video was ingenious (and funny). Great idea to use a $150 riflecase as a efoil board. Saves so much work.

So, made me think. Are we missing a obvious and cheap replacement for wing boards? All we really need is some volume, light weight and a flat bottom.

Maybe something like these watertanks could easily be turned into a $60, 6kg, 90l wingboard... (it shouldnt be too hard to figure out a foil mounting method). Any other obvious good ideas out there?

omg i love this

Well we all know why manufacturers are not making rotational moulded foil board$, wingboard$ and foils dont we now!!

That thing has way less swing weight than the $15 000 one I ride.

A smaller rifle case or similar could serve as a cassette/backbone for several boards, for different riders or progression. Also better if warranty service or repair, electronic mods are ever needed. No reason to ship an entire big floaty surfboard when you could ship what is essentially a shipping case. Way of the future?
Producing a Lift-like efoilboard looks like a big expensive complicated project, to end up with your foil, electronics etc. tied to that one platform
