Even on E-Bay you don't have the spare part you need? With my own hands, I would not dare to make some complicated detail.

Forgot about eBay, cos it's such a PITA now...
Yeah "spreader bar" on eBay isn't really the results I want
and there's zero useful hits in Sporting Goods.

A marshal art shin pad or forearm pad might be a cheap useful starter if you are just looking for a quick lash up.
