glue for twin tip

Postby supachip1 » Thu May 27, 2021 1:55 am

i have a north carbon select and the heel edge has worn, the bottom layer has come away from the plastic rail, it's not all the way just a couple of spots about 3-5" long, 1" deep whats the best glue to re-stick this?

i tried twice without really knowing what to use

1st was 2k epoxy (jb weld) was too thick to pour, but what i managed to get in held up for a while but gradually came out
2nd was resin... a friend was making a table and had some left over, thought..maybe it would work. it poured in nicely, clamped it up and it all looked good... but seems to have failed quickly....any tips?

Remove all prior repair attempts. Spend most time prepping is normal. Remove all loose material. Sand down the plastic (colored layer) on about 5mm of the healthy part so your repair can grab properly. Use masking tape for the desired area. Use fiberglass cloth (4oz or 6oz will work well) and use two part epoxy resin to laminate one or if needed two layers on to it. See my picture of a similar repair on a North Jamie. If you need more help, post a picture of your damage.
