Used surfboards, especially high performance, are a buyers market if I've ever seen one.
Here in Los Angeles Craigslist fills with new listings every day but even when I was on FL West Coast earlier this year -- where there are almost no waves -- it was easy to pick up an old board. I suggest picking up a grom board for $100 and trying it out. I've been learning a lot about what I like this way.
