Looking for cheap lines supplier

Postby rnelias » Thu Jun 17, 2021 1:37 am

I'd like to try different line lenghts and was looking for a cheap lines supplier to make my own line sets. It would be also the opportunity to practice line splicing techniques.

My idea is to make new 2 lines sets: 4 x 5m and 4 x 12m, thus, with the 22m lines bar that I already have, I could reach all the following options

0) 4 x 5m (too short and is not being considered...)
1). 4 x 12m
2). 4 x 22m
3). 4 x (12+5 )= 17m
4). 4 x (22+5 )= 27m
5). 4 x (22+12) = 34m

Thus, 4 x (5 + 12)m = 68m and 2 x 50m spools would be enough considering splicing losts. Maybe 1.6mm for front lines and 1.3mn for back lines.

Any advice and/or suggestions will be welcome.

From my searches, I've found a store on Aliexpress (Jeely) and a seller on eBay (Maelstorm).

Why not just get Liros line from green hat, cost is only a little more and you can be sure of the quality and specifications.

I don't live in the US. In fact, it's easier to import from China than the US... moreover, I'm looking for lines on spools to cut and splice with the lenghts I've described before... usually, we only find sets with lengths defined by the seller :(

Cheap is always nice but i'd be wary of doing so in something I trust my life to. There is nothing wrong with China supply but I'd wonder how to be sure of QC.

I had some url's saved a while ago

These three are european makers
https://www.teufelberger.com/en/products-services.html#. used by Duotone (but read below)

I should have mentioned on my first post that I'll be using these line sets on my foiling kites, thus, these lines do not need to be ultra-top-notch-high-end-expensive ones.

BTW, I'm not jumping on hydrofoil yet :D :D :D

Brazil. The worst place in the world to import anything :(

Is it possible that there are manufacturers of what you seek within Mercosur?
