Norsh Bar :-)

Postby Macisback » Sat Aug 02, 2014 8:05 pm

So to solve the safety issue (kite is still powered when released, due to mini 5th instaed of single flag out) with my North Quad Bar on my Naish Draft I combined my two bars.
They outcome is not bad.
Safety works 100 % and the Bar with Microhook/loop too.
Only issue could be the wear and tear of the single flag out line of Naish when compressed between bar and the North stopper ball.

This is what I think could work well to:

- 5th Line instead of Mini 5th (not powered, simply up to the attachement for the pump, only for safety), goes through inside hole of North Ironheart, no wear because of stopperball

- Have the single flag out line go through the Ironheart (would need to be more thin)

Any other suggestions?

Nice work. That pump attachment is strong enough to even put tension on fifth if you want to strip something like the Dice off bridles most of the pull should come from fronts anyways.

Toby, at this moment it is a 4 liner only and flags out on one front line.
I removed the mini 5th of North.

If you want a 5th line and this low V you can by the Ozone part from the other North Bar thread (swivel for low V that doesnt twist), as the North Ironheart has a swivel already.
And then just use a non powered 5th line as safety.

So after 2 days, the conclusion is: nice setup, but maybe I add a small washer/ball below the stopper to avoid the flagging line getting compressed all the time and the Naish Swivel is not really working, most of the time you will use the manual way to untwist the lines after backrolls etc. The two swivels are ok, but I guess the North manual one is enough. If I could add a working swivel on (maybe ceramic) could be nice, otherwise a V-style part like Ozo e offers could just work fine.

I really think a 5th line safety could be an option though!
