Airstyle Seat Harness 2014

Postby Awn » Sun Jan 11, 2015 12:24 pm

My Search for the perfect seat harness continues, till today i can't find a good seat harness that does note destroy my nuts , sites low to mid and can last more than a couple of month . Thought i would share the harness I have bought this year, and how bad they were. I ride a 14 meter rebel and normally i am over powered

1. Ion X-CITE 2014. the harness rides up, the leg straps are with a clip system that broke down after two session and can't be fixed. lasted two weeks

2. Ion RADAR 2014 The harness stays in place, the leg straps are very good, the harness ripped from the stitches from the back after 10 session. Also while doing tricks the harness hurt my nuts

3. Echo 2014, The harness stays in place very low, the harness leg strap padding sucks, i add extra padding, this harness broke apart after two month of use. The leg straps clips broke down after a week. In the Ion range this was my favorite harness to ride, a shame it brakes down after only two month, the stitching come apart.

4. Vega 2014 The harness stays in place perfect, the leg straps clip broke down after one week of use, and it can't be fixed.

5, Dakine fusion 2014, The harness stays low, The spreader bar bends up, this hurts my stomach, this is the best harness i have tried. as for quality it started to rep apart from the back stitching after 3 month.

Most of the harness i have tried were Ion due to there availability in the market , I would not recommend Ion. Dakine Fusion 2014 is the best harness i have tried but it still does not meet my demands. Please share your experience with Seat Harness that are available on the market

I hear your pain, same for me.

Pat Love Two Go sits perfect but so far I broke every harness either the stitching where te seat part attached to te harness and/or the Velcro breaks where it attaches to the metal of the spreader bars.

Ion Excite 2015: hurts my rips, not as good, also get back pain.

My dakine fusion has about 120 session on it , still looks solid. I am just an average intermediate rider doing small jumps and backrolls. I am sure you guys are putting your harnesses under more stress than I am. I always hose down my gear and hang dry in a shaded area when done.

For the past two years I have been using a mystic seat harness. I am not sure of the model. If anyone is interested I will try to figure that out. For me it has been very comfortable, good back support and has held up very well. About 200 + sessions and I give it a good work out. constant jumps, multiple rotations, good crashes, not just riding. All stiching still good and only a little wear spot on back where I dragged through a very shallow spot.

I should add that I rinse with fresh water after using for the day. I think that that helps.

Not long.
Longer if you enforce the seems where the harness meets the soft seat part.

And add some extra seat belt material or so where the webbing passes the metal are spreader bar. Tried duck tape, won't last.

But try and tell us how it fits and feels for you. For me it sits perfect and I have minimal back pain.

If someone can make a copy with enforcements, I will be your customer forever!

The Naish Pro Seat was good but for some reason Naish stopped selling it.

It doesn't make sense :

- nowadays if you go to a kite shop (at least here in europe) 90% of all seat harness are pure crap for beginners...
- I would guess 50% of all waist harness users shouldn't be using them (too poor technic, they're ruining their back for nothing but looking "cool" at the beach) :nono:

Fusion with a Dynabar rope is exceedingly comfortable.
