I was just catching up on Toby's adventures in airstyle and was about to purchase the dvd when I saw the part about the micro loop. So I take it that since 2013, no north bars have the micro loop, or hook on the main loop to use one. This is disappointing as I just ordered a 2015 bar on ikitesurf classifieds. I guess I need to get an older bar and pick up the part when I order the dvd.

Also, the loop part seems to be easy to replicate, but what about the hook on the chicken loop. Will the adapter you offer fit the newer bars for the hook?

By the way Toby, I like your name Airstyle. Sounds better for us old guys than old school. And it looks a hell of a lot cooler than the handle pass kids. Especially to those watching. It is unique and a thing of grace the way you do it

And one more question, is it possible to use a new 2015 5th E line set on a 2012 quad bar that needs new lines? I can get the old quad bar, but it needs repair

Also, I assume that the vario cleat that adjusts your bar height isn't strong enough to hold our weight. I wonder if there is a work around that could lash that down for full power riding. Or I suppose we can go back to shorter boards and bigger kites like the old days.

The Upgrade Kit from North that is available for purchase on www.airstyle.tv is only for North bars from 2009-2012.
Those bars have the holes for the loop, and the hook for the iron heart.

But I know about guys, who have other bars, and drilled holes and use the older iron heart.

Unfortunately North will not offer a new microloop bar. But the center part is the same, so you can drill holes.

I just got a wakestyle bar, which is shorter, and had holes drilled.
Once my bar is all assembled, I will post a picture. I assume it is the perfect Airstyle bar.

Yes, get the old quad bar if it has holes, and add the 5th line lines, and get microloop kit.

You will see, with a microloop a lot more is possible. It is a lot about the gear when you want to improve.

It had to get a name, since from the history of the sport Wakestyle is Old School, since already in 1998 Lou Wainman did those KGB stuff...board offs came in 2000 or so.

hi, I'm write from Italy.
I have North trust bar 4 lines - 2015 and I have adapted the kit for "upgrade micro loop 2009-2012" to my bar.
It's not difficult with a little ability to use tools.
I've bought a kit and filed the black tcap with micro hook because it's too fat for go inside the roto head of the chicken loop.
After that, the 2 holes where the 2 set screws (grains) do not match exactly, so you just do one or two new holes.
To mount the micro loop on the bar does not need to make holes, but simply replace the two bolts that hold the center bushing of plastic flowing with the depower rope (front line) with two cross head screws. Just insert the two slots of the micro loop in screws, screw them tight and the screw heads securely holds the micro loop.

But you still need an older Iron Heart, 2009-2012 to attach the hook.

And: it works ok, but the older bar works better, since like this the loop is less stiff...I cannot always hook in quickly, sometimes you miss.

Actually I've not tried it in the water.
Two solutions if it work no so good:
1) Make holes in tha bar to fix the microloop more stiff
2) repalce this microloop with a custom made by a thin iron wire (like bicycle brake); more thin = easier hook-in.

I fixed the hook of the kit to the original 2015 iron heart, after a little and accuracy adaptation work with the grinding wheel for abrasion, than I made a new hole (one) in the soul of the hook (it's inside the roto head 2015) and made a new hole (one) in the roto head 2015. You can see it (the new hole of the roto head) in the photo.

I think and hope it can work good.

With holes in the bar it will work fine.

A thin iron wire will break quickly.

Back then north had that and I had to replace many times per year.

We are in the age of 3D printers...shouldn't it be possible to print a hook nowadays?

Someone on here should be able to do it for sure.
