good to know! us younger kiters (as in years of kiting) haven’t seen much. I’ve only seen strapless rodeos, but this looks so cool, provided you can finish it with as much finesse...

Yes very hot

In boardsports this is actually a rodeo:

In my opinion tricknames shouldn't be all mixed up. I mean a rodeo is a pretty legendary trick and seeing this trick being named a rodeo makes me a tiny bit sad. I mean you are probably the only person in the world doing it so you might as well call it the crazy jolly jumper or whatever. Just not a rodeo.... Its bad enough with the darkslide but that has kind of already stuck as a name, but that also makes a little more sense

That’s snowboarding 😳 we are on WATER

and which part of that video looks like rodeo? Sorry, but this makes zero sense to me!

Toby is the living memory of kiteboarding & has vast amounts of knowledge about our sport. I think he deserves to name some tricks, certainly more deserving than a snowboarder telling kiteboarders how to name their tricks.

Kas with all due respect you make no sense, dude! Just being a contrarian as usual?

I didn't name it Rodeo.
Someone back then did it, no idea who.

And with so many new tricks naming it doesn't make sense. If a guy names one new trick he will remember it. I named a few and every time I am asking myself what was it...just too many, therefore I describe them.
But whatever has been used before, like Darkslide and Deadman etc I continue to use.

Yeah but except for you nobody remembers “some guy way back” called it a rodeo! That’s why you are the living memory of the sport & you know what to call YOUR trick even when you are “just describing it.” Too much humility can be irresponsible; we need to know what’s what & we need a reliable source😊 Certainly not from snowboarding authorities. Though it’s neat to know what others sports do, obviously they don’t apply to us.
