Hi great Toby, my weight is 76 Kilos.

Hi EDT in 15/18 Knots the 15 m is my best choice. For a rider heavier than 75 Kilos the 18 m would be perfect but with a narrower upper end. The 18 m has a 60 cm bar and is slower in the flight window, Nevertheless is a great kite to do airstyle tricks in low to moderate wind :thumb: .

Cheers

Carlo

You are about 15 kg less than me, I still think I might want to get the 15 because in lighter wind I like hydrofoiling.

I can do doublerolls with 12RS no problem, also with loop, if kite is slow thats sounds much more scary for me than its not so stable. I mean im afraid that it will be boring, almost all tricks i do are with loop. But i am interested to have more smooth style.
U just answered this for yourself.

Sure, use a 60cm bar (why not 70?) and 15m lines and claim something loops fast. :naughty:

Dont complicate, get what Toby rides and get over it. I would if 90kg.

$30 for every half an hour of work of very qualified foil repairman plus shipping charges. Actually very reasonable when I blew mine and needed it.

Foil kites would do for airstyle I think but I’d rather pick a HA LEI myself too
And finally, I just love Yanks. How much u paying for petrol?

For US $30 in AU no one even wants to talk. The one single sewing run on LEI from LE to TE is AU$150. Thats 15min job.

6-8 broken ribs is about $600-800 job. If u can find that skilled tech particularly for ultra slippery Soul fabric. Many will not even attempt, and fair enough.

To send it to EU is 200. The warranty does not cover shipping.

As said, none one takes local environment into account. What your env has to do with someone elses? Great for you tho.
Not so great for non yanks, unfortunately.
Gas is $2.70 a gallon (72c a liter) in IL

I’m sure there are cheaper things in Australia like healthcare expenses compared to US. Paying $800-$1200 for each of kids’ daycare ain’t fun either

$300 repair for 8 ruined foil ribs is pretty reasonable cost. I paid $120 for straight leading-to-trailing edge rip for LEI and $140 for fixing 2 LE rips. Pretty reasonable
I wouldn’t ride a kite with 8 repaired ribs or edge to edge repair neither. A brand new LEI is what $400-$900 and new wings resist abuse better

My environment doesn’t allow me to fly foils to start with but I don’t judge kites based on environment - people often don’t enter their location and I have no clue about services availability/cost at their spot.
Yes, but was it Soul for $300 fixed? Huge difference with so slippery material.

Nope, daycare is about 120-140 per day as I understand. Add 50% more for petrol.

So, to buy a $3000 kite, one would be well cashed up. And the ones who are, they do not practice airstyle in this country ;)

Now, some will jump from their chairs when reading this, but hey, u do not need a 3k kite to practise AS. Some claim it will give more time on water. Actually, you'll at instances loose heaps of time on foil bridles. Shocking, I know. So, while unwrapping a huge mess after kite in a drink just 50m from landing, and than using a blower to dry a kite, one might wonder why? Why I did not take a simple LEI so if it drops in a drink, who cares....

But thats all rubbish and incoherent experience ;)

Was trying Nova today, but wind was bad, kite was falling down from sky etc. Maybe at weekend get another chance.

Whats technique for jumping high with foil kite and to get good airtime?
Didnt find any videos about that.
