Also, I am all for pumping the kite as pre sesh warm up. There is definitely a correlation between no warming up and injuries, even simple muscule sprain. That's something the foil riders constantly forgetting to mention or even ignoring. Good luck to them, I'm 50yo and injuries are no fun.
Never seen anyone trying to use pumping as a selling point before lol. I agree to an extent about warm up but your delusional if you think pumping your kite is helping or preventing you from injury, other than getting the blood flowing on a cold day it's just an annoyance.
I will reply to you first.

Do you know that I have a broken T12-13 and that pumping the kite is proven for me to get my core strength up like nothing else?

Also, put my weight and yours into perspective. So, cut the BS and put yourself in my shoes...If u can, but I doubt.

And, there are no cold days in AU. You dreaming...

The thing with Airstyle is, as mentioned, to ride 100% of time ONE single kite.
Most would disagree that Airstyle requires riding a single kite 100%. Only Toby does that.
Most? Who is most? You?

So, u doing Airstyle in 30kn? 25? 20?

Funny, Ive never seen an AStyle in 25-30kn with 9m kite. Or we call a board off Airstyle?

Tell us please, did u ever attempted triple rotation on 7m kite with a board off? No? Well than...

Let us know how much will cost u to fix internal ribs when they blow...
...
$30 for every half an hour of work of very qualified foil repairman plus shipping charges. Actually very reasonable when I blew mine and needed it.

Foil kites would do for airstyle I think but I’d rather pick a HA LEI myself too
And finally, I just love Yanks. How much u paying for petrol?

For US $30 in AU no one even wants to talk. The one single sewing run on LEI from LE to TE is AU$150. Thats 15min job.

6-8 broken ribs is about $600-800 job. If u can find that skilled tech particularly for ultra slippery Soul fabric. Many will not even attempt, and fair enough.

To send it to EU is 200. The warranty does not cover shipping.

As said, none one takes local environment into account. What your env has to do with someone elses? Great for you tho.
Not so great for non yanks, unfortunately.

So how do you do it? What does it look like when you are pumping your kite? It must be more than just pumping it since that is done quite fast. I learned a dynamic stretching routine these past 2 months and consider that my warm up but if I can be injury free without wasting my time on doing that I'm all for it!

Again,

An 80kg 180cm tall bloke and 165cm 59kg differs a lot.

For me, simply pumping a 13m kite over a couple of weeks or months and I will develop a 6pack. That is proven for me over last 10 years. An 13m needs 60-80 strokes if remember well. So not fast at all.

After I started using foils, that is gone. Not happening. The back muscles are also way less developed, hence more ribs pain due to the surgeries.

So, if someone does not agree, I suggest break a back, learn to walk again and than think how pumping a kite helps or not.

D.

I like the new 12m pivot better (2018 2019 or 2020) than the old rebel for boardoffs in medium wind. Jumps higher lands softer and more floaty than the old rebel. I like the 17m slingshot turbine for doing board offs in lighter wind. The soul tho if you can afford it that kite is like a cheat code for board offs because you have so much time. I wouldn't go with a Chrono (too finicky) or a pansh (just not solid in the air). There are lots of other good choices too. I wouldn't go with an old Dyno because you don't want to spend more time in the repair shop than in the water and those kites haven't been made for a while.

Downunder, why are you always so confrontational? "Most" means "most kiteboarders" or, if you prefer, "most airstyle kiters". You know what it means, you just want to be an a**hole. Chill out, dude. Go kiting.

Doing something for 30 seconds to a minute is not a warmup. It is not nothing but not enough to prevent injury. I thought you had a system to the madness.

Gas is $2.70 a gallon (72c a liter) in IL

I’m sure there are cheaper things in Australia like healthcare expenses compared to US. Paying $800-$1200 for each of kids’ daycare ain’t fun either

$300 repair for 8 ruined foil ribs is pretty reasonable cost. I paid $120 for straight leading-to-trailing edge rip for LEI and $140 for fixing 2 LE rips. Pretty reasonable
I wouldn’t ride a kite with 8 repaired ribs or edge to edge repair neither. A brand new LEI is what $400-$900 and new wings resist abuse better

My environment doesn’t allow me to fly foils to start with but I don’t judge kites based on environment - people often don’t enter their location and I have no clue about services availability/cost at their spot.
