Boardoffs and wetsuit

Postby BlameTheWind » Sat Jun 04, 2022 8:25 pm

I live in grazy country like Estonia where you almost all year need to use wetsuite.
Wetsuite does decrease flexibility and time you have for some boardoffs where you want to be max quick with it.
Looking for recommendations, just max flexible material and thin is better than thik or maybe more some other ideas?

best idea: move to somewhere warm!

With a thick wetsuit I can't even reach my board anymore...I always think it is me getting old...but then back in Brazil and just shorts, I am like a young boy!

It does make a huge difference.

Guess yoga and staying flexible is the key here...and a flexible wetsuit...don't know about the newest materials.

I had 6 mm thick mystic cure, and now I have 5 mm o'neill wetsuit and I don't feel they restrict movement at all. Just buy the most expensive neoprene, it's usually the most flexible :)

O`neill Hyperfreak is the way to go! Especially if you occasionaly go wavesurfing as well.
I just got 4/3+ and upper body is super flexible. Other wavesurfers say that hyperfreak 3/2 is like surfing naked compared to other wetsuits. But for kiting I think 4/3+ should be good from april to october in norther coast of Estonia. And if it gets warmer then you can always ride with shorts.
Personally I can`t wait to finaly some waves come into Vääna-Jõesuu to try how much easier it`s to paddle. Previously I had some super stiff Mystic 5/4 , I will still keep it but problably don`t want to put it on anymore :D
Hyperfreak is around 300 euros in Estonia and they normaly sell out quickly. Ask kalipso.ee or surftown
