Nice and awaited picts Tilmann :thumb: :thumb:
Would you please translate your comments in english ?

Johnny Heineken, on his Sword, finished 500m ahead of the first race boards when he won the StFYC event mid-august.

Can you imagine that, during the latest Defi Kite in France (13-15th september) , Nicolas Parlier on his race Spotz won several times 500m ahead of the first Sword. He has started with the Spotz board and finished with the latest Aguera Foil board... :o :o

With a sustainable cruising speed of 31knots, and a vmax of 35+ knots without vibration, we have clearly another copycat...

Wow, I see why you say the spotz is fast! 35+ knots on a foil without vibration- wow! I do not think I even reach 20 knots on my MHL Lift before control ability gets bad and crashes get sore.

I think the standard of racing at the next foil world cup will be phenomenal!

There are some really fast foils it seems.

Spotz and Taaroa definitely, and Zeeko (race) too - all going faster than 30 knots typically.

And one more brand/foil I think, can not remember though ?

For those not into foilboarding - remember that speed is on cost of turning and agility etc :thumb:

Peter:

Very well written.......

Keeping in mind, C A R A F I N O did all the hard work already for manufacturing hydrofoils and creating the sport, shit happens, like the sport of leisure hydrofoiling all of a sudden taking a turn to racing.

So now we will bring a product that goes fast and will also have interchanging blades for freestyle use. So that you can go from fast with stiff maneuvering to freestyle wave riding performance, all in one. It is a challenge to have the best of both disciplines in one design.

The C A R A F I N O original design, is a free style hydrofoil. Therefore, you are comparing apples to oranges when including a C A R A F I N O original hydrofoil to anything else, on the market or made in the back yard, designed to race.

What I see now on the market is foil designs that are performing nearly equal, give or take 15%. So it appears to me that what everything is coming down to on the race course is kitemanship skills. Same as in yacht racing, everyone is on the same equipment, it is the seamanship skills that win the race.

As they say in sail boat racing, there is no second place. You win or you lose.

Keep up the good work.

What would be really nice is a board that allows a choice of foils to use for different conditions. When I windsurfed I had a selection of fins that I would use for different wind conditions. I would like to see a hydrofoil product that has a specific foil available for light wind and another one for high speed. I don't want to have to buy a different complete setup for each condition.

YOUR ON THE RIGHT TRACK ABOUT A FOIL BEING CAPABLE OF DIFFERENT SET UPS FOR DIFFERENT CONDITIONS.

C A R A F I N O HAS THIS SET UP FOR 2014.

NO REASON TO BUY A CAR TO GO TO THE STORE IN, ONE FOR GOING OFF ROAD AND ONE FOR TAKING THE KIDS TO SCHOOL. GET THE ALL IN ONE MODEL.

as lovely as that sounds we all know the hybrids does everything okay but nothing exceptionally well.

I'd suggest that if you are mainly getting a race foil get a dedicated race foil that is 100% designed around racing and then sure add a different wing for whatever else you want to do but don't expect it the highest performing in everything.
