It was only a simple pole/socket setup but held him in and secure very good. Too bad, he rarely could roll the boat, only in flat water, he quite often swam the rapids--only because of his lack of roll. He actually could paddle class 3/4 quite well! My point, he swam a rapid on the Pegeon River in North Carolina and lost his 'leg'. It was all over the internet that a open boater lost his leg in that rapid. Imagine the uproar! Two years later, a kayaker found his leg, eventually found out what it was and it was returned. a case of beer was FEDEXED....THE END.
Arcsrule - I love it! What a story!
Billie - I made some video with my jumping and will post it soon. Please give me couple days as I'm busy next 2 days. I hope you will see that landing might be soft. It's possible and to be honest if you manage to jump on TT than should be no probs on the foil! Keep trying mate!
This is from today's session on 9m Velocity - I should have 13m to reach a meter or two higher flights. I was not powered enough in 13-15kts and a bit less in the breaking zone.

PT - above pictures show only 4 maybe 5m but it was not more than 12kts on 9m kite. As I said I should chose 13m.
Won't be surprised to see guys flying 10+m soon.

At the spot where the pictures are taken, a foil makes perfect sense :thumb:

Since there are no waves usable for waveriding really, but huge chop so no flat water nor freestyle conditions either.

That is the beaty of the hydrofoils - they DONT MIND these conditions, and can not be felt at all :naughty:

Agree that at that spot...if it is the Baltic Sea ...using a full suit at this time of year :snow: :?: ........
.....better to be "out of the water" and stay dry........as much as possible

I have witness a Carafino hydrofoil jump as high as 60 feet in the air by rider Kevin Dickenson in California. The question is not high hi, but how strong is your foils for impact landing, especially when landing not the way you want. Most other brands are blowing the inserts out of the strut and or cracking the strut. This style of riding is all free style.

Even Baltic cannot cure me from the addiction. We ride it all year around... with sun, rain, day, night, haze, fog, snow, whatever
A better quality pics but on the low level yet:

Bracuru:
The foil that you use does not look like a Moses, is it something you made?

That's a prototype and not made by me. I wish I could design and built a foil - not clever enough...

Great pictures BraCuru. Thanks for posting them.
You are inspiring me to put straps back on my board and try jumping again.
