Great video Alex. We're going to need some small kites to race in windy places....

Several of us here are riding on Aguera boards with our Spotz foils and we are very happy with them. Now Alex is also making his own foils with an inovative attachment system. I have only tried his new foil briefly but it feels fast and smooth. Adam Koch managed to win the freestyle big air competition in Baja with one.

Keep up the good work Alex.

That's the best advert for foiling that I have seen so far. Good job Alex. :thumb:

Couldn't agree more - its all fine and well seeing foils used in flat conditions (or behind a boat), but seeing a foil used & ridden so nicely in waves was v impressive…. imho that had to be the most convincing promotion for any foil design to date.

very nice video, good lesson in when to be foiling and when to ignore the foil.. just starting to get into riding swells on mine down here in the south of New Zealand.... great fun! I'm going to watch that again!

What is the ideal setup to ride swells with foil? I guess you need a slow foil. Alex, do you have a special wing setup for surfing? Besides being slow to stay on the wave, what else does a good surffoil do?

Bryan Lake and I ride the same bigger front wing which is a lower aspect usually slower foil that handles the bubbles caused by waves very well. I also rode the high aspect wing in this video. Most foils do not like to go through the bubbles (whitewater). It is actually my all around foil (bigger low aspect) which is very good for beginners and big kite foiling as well.
Check Bryan Lakes facebook page for shots of him riding waves on Oahu with the big wing.
