New board design, his and hers:
take 7cm off the length, 3 off the the width , thin it to 5+cm, add lots of pretty color, let her draw on it, ... and give it to your girl for Christmas.
I am a big fan of double concaves but I'm sticking with bevels for now

I had no purpose with my post of the Carafino shape, just thought it was funny that he had those ideas too. I did not like the idea of the shape when he posted it, and still dont. But I have not tried it so impossible to say. Maybe it works. But if you look at the moth, they tend to torpedo when they touch down on the downwind.
I now ride one of the boards with a deep double concave in the front. I find it ok, but not that big of a difference. It does make the board a bit more directional, which can be both good and bad. If you eg. touch down on the downwind it is nice, but if a chop hit you from the side it can stear the direction of the board. But I just got it, so need to get a little more used to it.
My old board had bevels edges and a wide nose which I really liked. The bevel edges is easier to save and keep going when you touch down on the upwind instead of diging in.
And yes - the top guys touch down too...

Im not a Moth expert, but from my brief time following the worlds going on right now, there is a whole lot of this:

I was thinking Adam K's board could be the next step to creating a board with a wand at the front? Ive seen a foil with a wand trailing behind which had some sucess..

Yeah, a bit. For example in 40+ knots in cold Baltic yesterday
I quote myself from a topic:
viewtopic.php?f=196&t=2384026&start=40
Tomek Janiak and myself were blown away by the double concave results.
This is a must for any racer and a highly recommended for anybody else.
The double concave with a connection of a wider nose and a slightly increased scoop seriously minimises diving into the water. Really seriously! I did not expect such a visible change.
More than happy
Now I know that a shape of hydrofoil board cannot be ignored. So far I would say: connect a foil to anything and you can fly. Now I would say: with a proper board you will fly with dry hairs
Water jibing problems? Haven't notice anything wrong. Actually I notice increased control and comfort. Once you try it you will love it for good. My boards got a 20mm deep double concave.
One foot off the nose - 49cm wide. One foot off the tail - 47cm. Strange but it works very well
