Regarding bolts, should the connection between the mast plate and board (as well as the other "main" bolts) be tightened to 5NM with a carbon bike component (stem/seat post) torque wrench?

here are the updated holes for the carbon hydrofoil
Now it suits all boards with rail connection: 2 holes distance: 85mm (suits zeeko boards) and 90mm (suits all boards with rails).

Regards,

Nicolas, Can you bevel holes on the Carbon 4 bolt plate so that bolt heads can mount flush with surface of plate. Also can you describe the riding differences on Speed/Jump front wing versus Freeride and Race wings. Thanks :D

Just received the new Pocket board for my 2014 free ride foil.
Hopefully I can go out today to become a member of the hydrofoil family ;)

Dear Stephan,

Here are my 2 cents

We can compare wings in this way from the closest to the most different one: Race/freeride/Speed-jump

With a GPS I recently (this is my personnal last tests, and value can be higher or lower depends on the rider)

Race: max speed around 33Knots
Upwind: +++(the best of the 3)
Low end: +++ (the best of the 3), lifting speed is around 6knots
Front foot pressure: a little bit higher than the 2 other wings
Yaw effect: The hydrofoil is locked, this wing gives less yaw compare to the 2 others
curves and turns: good but need more radius

Freeride: Max speed around 33knots (last monday I had a record in 25knots with a 8m tube kite at 33.2knots)
Upwind: +++ (less than race but better than speed wing)
Low end: +++ ( close to the race wing, lifting speed is around 6-7 knots)
Front foot pressure: pressure balance on the 2 foots)
Yaw effect: more free than the race but locker than the speed wing
curves and turns: very good and easy to control

Speed-jumps wing: Max speed around 38knots
Upwind: ++ this wing is ok, but not able to compete to racing wings in contests. But for speed crossing it is ok.
Low end: ++,the lifting speed is around 9-10knots (my weight: 80Kg)
Front foot pressure: same as freeride wing
Yaw effect: this is the most free wing of the three
Curves and turns: turns super shortly, but need more speed (then more experience) than freeride one.

Also please note that if you change wings, there is no other change to do (no need to moove straps or to change AoA of the back wing, this is plug and play)

Ride easy
Nicolas

I bought the carbon foil with intermediate wings, pocket board and just added a Notus 10m. I am loving this setup. Thanks for the great products.
