How to fix my broken front wing

I broke the front wing of my hydrofoil the other day foiling, it was because I hit the sand bottom several times before.The crack is right by the bolts are. Do you think sanding it down to where the crack begins and then filling it with carbon layers?

Factory race wing. I ride straight onshore winds and really light so sometimes it's really hard to get some upwind ground since I'm fighting the kite to keep flying. By light I mean under 10 knots most of the time.

Sand it down until you have enough to build up 3 or 4 layers of 200g UD Carbon. Best if done in Vacuum. Lay it up like a leaf spring. Start with one long piece, then shorter and shorter.

I just took it to my surf shaper and told him exactly what you suggested.
Looking forward to get back foiling in a couple of days.

Remember you need layers across the crack. I'd be using some 400gm double bias aswell as the uni to get torsional strength aswell.

You mean the longest piece goes on last though right? That's usually the best way to make a repair, sand down further in the middle and taper to less sanding depth as you go out, then start with smaller pieces in the middle to longer pieces on the outside.
