if there is places where guys surf different foils it would bee great for first time buyers to have some of you compare. I (think i have) narroved my choice down to: gong - manta - sroka and LF - roughly same price but theres no one comparing yet
plooking forward - perhaps some of the magazines does the job in spring

We,I will post as non bias reviews as possible after the French test days next week.
I will say before that happens next week, forget the funny foil as compaired to the Manta.
Just compair the two in photos, which looks better to you?
I would think that "maybe " the funny foil is a tad bit easier to fly than the Manta seeing the very low A R F wing and thick slow strut, but after you learn even a little, you will out grow the funny foil fast!
And for sure the funny foil board is not the best design at all, not enough nose scoop and volume, and rails not user friendly, super heavy as well.
A reliable sorce tells me that the funny foil compairs to the first generation carafino which is not flattering.
I would be a lot kinder to L F had they not choosen to misrepresent their set up as high performance and then post they do not believe in compairisons?
L F quote,
"Also i want to give our (my) opinion about classifying a foil as beginner, advanced, etc..We don't think this classification can be placed on a foil.
Foils for us are the same. The LF foil fish is a high performance free riding hydro foil."

Funny!
Someone who owned a Carafino before rode my foil last session and told me it was extremely different! As far as I know he ordered the North foil for test so I hope to have a real comparison soon...

And please, also put the Horue H13 on the comparison list!

I think what he ment was that they both have a lot of hydrodynamic drag? I will see him soon so I can ask.

I think these three foils (gong, manta, and sroka) are being compared because they are all around the $1000 mark. Alpine and Ketos are way more expensive. These are the prices I found for foil only:
Gong 999 Euros ($1075)
Manta $985
Sroka 750 Euros ($807)
Ketos 1690 Euros ($1819)
Alpine couldn't find price on their website, but last I saw was >$2000
If you are in the US, it helps that the Euro is down >20% vs the US Dollar over the past year. Bad news for Liquid Force...

Do quoted prices include VAT? If so, as is common in EU price quotes, there is additional discount to US buyer, around 20%
