TRied this foil yesterday...i'd say: stay well clear of this foil.
It's sooooo slow and boring.
I come from a moses silente and taaroa sword. I know it's for beginners, but fot that price, there are better options. It feels like something is dragging around underneath.Like cutting a piece of meat with a blunt knife, compared to my Taaroa which is more like a Global chef's knife, slicing thru with minimal effort...

Can't understand it either especially coming from North. Feels like some brands are simply competing for the highest price.

Least of your worries with that setup is the weight.

Sounds exactly like what I'm lookin for to learn on. Not lookin to go Fast. Then add another Foil later Alpine etc. At 240 Pies I want Max Stability.

I honestly think most kitesurfers are aiming for the wrong foils....

Maybe just me, but being a "non-racer" and waverider/freestyler, it is a turnoff with all these "fast*" foils that everybody is talking about

I believe that most of the new hydrofoilers, will NOT be kiteracers (like most of the first has been), but some who wants the feel, the fun, the amazement, and the agility to turn on a dime and ride waves :thumb:

Maybe just me I know, so who cares what I think

Peter - full agreement. I hope to see a delta shape back in a trend.
This shape I found working the best for me.
I love Sword, Spotz but in my mind of freerider they cannot beat...

... Moses Silente with a strapless wave board.
Sounds crazy nowadays but I hope the designers would put more efforts to develop a pure free-wave-ride foil.

Agreed but ideally when you want to change your foil to match conditions or style, its a simple matter of swapping out the front wing. North will require you to switch fuselage, front, and rear wing as they have made it all one piece. I have three wings to choose from for my Alpine based on conditions or purpose.

I still don't understand what the advantage of something slow and inefficient should be ?

I don't miss the days with vibrating kneecaps and beeing overtaken by
twintip kiteboarders and windsurf intermediates.

Anyway, if I would bother riding an "intermediate" foil I would not spend this much money for it...
And I would not bother a full carbon foil that for sure has its disadvantages comparing
to more robust / compact glass or aluminum foils of similar (minor) performance.

Riding a top end performance foil as an intermediate rider (if not advanced beginner..)
I can tell You all that if You ride such a foil You don't have to ride this foil necessarily
at full racing speed but You just can cruize around totally relaxed, just without
vibrations or drift anchour feeling...

Regards

Wolfgang

True, agree that is not the perfect solution nope.

Maybe it was a bit off (this North) topic - but in general I find that many are heading in the wrong direction towards racefoils or fast foils, even though they want to freeride :naughty:

I for one, would like to pay for a good carbon freeride hydrofoil (well, I have actually done this a couple of times, and waiting for a new one now), as this is where I think most users will go

The race scene is leading the way in terms of performance and development, and of course the "boarders" (limits), also for freeride, are moved slowly, which is good.

But important to distinguish between freeride and race/speed.
