65kg 12m Chrono and zeeko makaira.
12m Chrono will provide enough power to foil in winds that don't have enough poower to keep the kite parked while walking to deep water.
Yesterday I had an session in a dying stable seabreeze of 6kn and that felt never undepowerd while tubes on the beach have trouble even getting airborne and not a single whitecap on the sea. But even that wind was strong enough to keep the kite in the air all time so the lower limit will be even less than that but I do not see the need to have a session in 4-5kn with constant danger of the kite falling out of the sky.

My experience is similar to evan's.
At 77 kg, with a 12 m foil kite, if I can make it out into deep enough water with an onshore breeze without the kite dropping into the water, I will be able to ride with good power, no problem.
With my 12 m inflatable in the same conditions, it is impossible. The kite will not fly reliably. Maybe I can launch it, but it is impossible to keep it up. The slightest decrease in wind and it tips over and crashes.

It took more than 10 power strokes to plane.

i voted kite not staying up in air. because with the right size kite and lines i can always get going. my biggest issue is switching directions. since i cant do a foiling jibe , the drift in the ocean can be a session killer- since we're dealing with such light winds a 1-2 knot drift can make all the difference

My trick in keeping the kite in the air in light wind is a race bar with much longer depower than standard bars. A high aspect race kite will have better control over low aspect ratio kite when fully depowered. depower, depower.
