If you don't mind me asking, what did you do to reenforce your Whip to take a foil?
two wooden stringers, 18 mm wide, lenght +/- 28 cm
stringers inserted from the bottom and reaching to the deck sandwich - with epoxyd resin
stainless steel insert M8 glued / screwed into the wood with epoxyd resin
3 - 4 layers of glass laminated on bottom about 36 x 20 cm biggest layer,
each layer a little smaller than the one before
to make the whole job look good, it is possible to scratch off the design from the bottom
with a cutter blade before lamination.
the board ist generally very solid, so this construction is now "bomb proof", the board is sill not heavy.
the whip 5.4 is very short narrow, which makes learning not easy.
now I use a semi broken + repaired wainman gambler 5.10 with the same construction,
much easier to learn with.
but the whip looks great with the foil
for positioning I took this template:

see "What's the best position for my deck grip?"
