I got charged $175 each way on my last cariibean trip , it would be awesome to get an inflatable foil board since we are mostly airborn

Why not a splittable one? Take a skimsurf o something similar around 140-150cm, quite thin, and split it. With 70-75 cm it would suit a suitcase.
Only concern is about the foil mast, it's longer than standard luggage dimension....how could you take it without fees?

I kinda think its funny that while foils look like the most ungainly of boards they have the potential to end up as the most compact travel set up. We've already seen that once you get good enough you can go with a board that is no longer than the strut.
Might not be a solution for racing, but when has that not been a pricey endeavour?
I'm waiting to see someone pull off the ultra compact travel set up. A short 80cm mast, a decent sized skateboard deck, a 9m cloud and your good to go! In that scenario, the pump would be the bulkiest piece!

Dont forget that eventhough the board is "free" of the water, a soft board is by far the worst thing one can experience, both in terms of feeling wrong, besides lowest performance even when flying - so there is a price if inflatable
Always interesting to make a minimal travel combo, although it must be
A short 80cm mast
A skateboard deck
An 8m2 foil kite
Would be really small and light, and you dont need a pump nor repair set for the tube, and remember an 8m2 new foil has much more max power than a 10m2 LEI, and can be depowered more (flies further to the edge) than a smaller LEI kite

True! A small foil kite would definitely be the way to go........ no pump at all.

Peter - disagree with the mast length. It should be 100cm but split one! (60 and 60cm).
I believe that one day come where we will be able to pack a foil, a board, two kites (13&8m), bars, harness into a suitace of 60x40x40cm with a total weight of less 22kg

yeah, split mast, perhaps Al to make it cheaper, though heavier (or a regular length mast in custom bag smuggled on board hanging under your shoulder and have a thin coat over the shoulder covering it up
)
on one side foil could make the travel simpler, on the other it eliminates lots of travel in search of windy locations

Maybe they'll make a splitmast that splits into a set of crutches for stealth (maybe the wings attached on the ends to rest your armpits).
