Spot 3 is out, what do you like or don't like?
Personal thoughts: Front wing mounted on fuselage, it would be stronger, but you won't have the option to attaching other wings. I personally love my speed wing on Spotz2 and use it when its really windy. Also its larger for travel, i always carry my wings on my cabin bag. Spotz2 owners can't use their wings with Spotz 3

Great just to see all the dif wings out there.
Kinda like looking at fins, it's not impossible to infer some of the character just from looks.
That one looks like a really short fuse.
pumped to see where the construction/assembly techniques go too. Simple, quick, 1 or no tool, minimum hardware, strong, tight fit. It's pretty creative what people come up with. The single tension screw down the fuse is a good example. I'm waiting for the first one to come out with a no tool, no hardware, snap cam (ski boot latch) type of system to put the whole thing together. Also want to see it break down easily into no more than 3 pieces. A three piece fuse with a portion that is the front wing, rear wing, and strut seems logical.

Looks like they changed their finishing process to include a little more cosmetic attention...it would be cool if they offered a "pretty carbon fiber" version and a "we know you're going to sand/grind/paint this so whatever" version.

I hope they make a 4 bolt plate mount to attach to the board. One can always glue the strut to the fuselage for strength.

Why ruin such a beautiful thread with a picture of that thing??
It's like putting up a picture of a Yugo in an Porsche thread

Doesn't look a lot different from the current overall Spotz 2 shape. Seems the design curve is flattening out and that most manufacturers have achieved similar speeds for their foils. The developments will be in strength and ease of use. But I may be wrong. I guess we'll see it in use in Australia v soon and find out.

The carafino is actually better finished than the Spotz.

Yes, it's accepted that the speeds between the top foils are similar. Comes down to rider skill now.
As for the Spotz looking similar to a carafino,
Huffy makes a pretty sweet bike you can buy cheap at Walmart, not at all a performance bike. That's why nobody who is serious about bikes rides one.
The carafinos longevity is not in dispute. In this thread yet.

Looks like Spotz are followig the Listerfoil setup that Jordan Girdis was riding last season with a 1 peice winghs/fuslage... KFA have also gone a similar setup for there bew foil.. I recon it would be a pain to travel with and would get damaged in transit easier as they wouldnt pack around a board well. Without heaps if padding..
