About two months ago I was driving with my foil upside down (mast pointing up) on the top of my car, strapped in. I have done this a bunch around town. I forgot it was there and went through the ATM drive threw at the bank and ripped the mast out of the box (Alien Air/MHL combo) .
Sooooo....this gave me the opportunity to mount the wake skate. After using a crappy one I swapped out for a new one while I fix the Alien Air. Here is a video.
Overall im not a big fan. Its fun for sure and a great novelty for traveling but the board is too heavy for its size and in really light wind the board sinks faster then it plans, I find this is mostly an issues in the ocean when there is some type of wave.

Not dissin the skate, In fact, much respect for being able to do it.
I have tried it and find strapless a lot easier on the surf and now skim.
The skate is super cool but mine has so much rocker its like water starting a plow. The surfboard is so much easier. The skim is harder, but no where near as hard as the skate. You would really have to be good at getting on a foil in one clean shot and nailing at least 50% of your transitions. I'm not there. For now I'm loving the skim.
