Hi All,
I had this crazy idea, which is most likely not implementable today yet, but.. I wanted to pick your brains on theoretical feasibility of this idea. And maybe, inspire some DIY inventor to actually implement it.
So here it is: We all heard of magnetic levitation right?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4lW7xydnH8
So now imagine a board that has strong electrical magnets inside and can magnetically levitate a hydrofoil wing at a distance the mast normally holds the foil.
now we have a board and a wing that can go under water. But NO mast.
And that is the idea of the magnetic levitating hydrofoil. (MLH)
Now just take a kite and go ridding ! Cool?
The question is: what would it take to build one? If anybody can do it, imagine how awesome that would be. Almost NO drag.
I am sure, the physicists and mathematics on this thread will find flaws in my design, but maybe, just maybe this is not a crazy idea?
