Zeeko Carver - Low Wind/Carving non anhydral G10 wing

Postby Macisback » Wed Aug 24, 2016 5:03 pm

Just arrived, cant wait to try it. Solid build like all Zeeko products I got so far.
Its 2 pieces though, guess CNC milling for G10 is limited compared to Fiberglass milling.

Looks nice!
Can you tell me the dimensions of this wing?
And please share your experience when you will try it.
Thank you!

Probably easier and cheaper to make it from 2 different pieces of stock. depending on orientation of glass layers, g10 can split with relative ease, which might be another reason.

I have the Carver wing as well. Had a short test run a couple of days ago.
The wing is quite fun to ride, lifts at lower speed than the standard wing, and allows slow speed carving /wavefun.
I think the backfoot position is a little different compared to riding with the standard wing ( I only ride with front strap), but that was to be expected ?
There is more drag with the Carver wing (also expected), but we have a lot of seaweed at my homespot at the moment, so it was difficult to determine Wing drag VS drag caused by seaweed on the mast.
More test tomorrow :D

I have been using the carver for the past two months and like it. Really nice set up in small waves and ocean swell. Went back to the smaller freeride wing last night to see if it handled jellyfish found in our bays better. I thought it might catch less. It didn't and with less grunt stalled easier when hung up with long jellies. Though it was fun to ride something a little speedier again. I like to have options to change up the ride.
