If you're looking for something effortless, where the learning curve is minimum, you should probably looking into powerboats.
No tacking or gybing required. No need for wind. You go wherever you want.

In my opinion, the best part of kiteboarding is that you never stop learning, and you can learn so many different things that are unrelated to each other.

If you're into wakestyle, freestyle, oldschool, surfing, amputee pornography, racing, foiling, or anything really, there is always more to learn.
The satisfaction comes from learning new things, and getting better each time.

If you don't want to ever learn anything more once you get riding upwind, you must be a terribly fun person.
In that case, don't bother learning how to ride toeside, you might get dragged into learning how to do carving turns.

I'm not disparaging the existing status quo, nor am I belittling your own personal experiences and preferences.
But I do believe that having options is a great and wondrous thing.

If you are convinced that directional KBHF is the very embodiment of efficiency and joy, then more power to you.

But there are fools like me who like to arse around on the water with different toys, who may want ride a foil for shits and giggles. With boots. Wakestyle.

Your opinion of what is a good idea remains yours and your supporters.

As I said, thankfully that doesn't need to limit the rest of us fools.

bullshit people need to learn.

Just let them have fun their way.

People told me to go unhooked...then to take a surfboard, now to hydrofoil...guess what...I am having the blast of my life!

I never had fun jibing...and never will! Just give me a TT foil and I will show you what I will do with it...

Yes, il maestro is right!
So everybody keep the peace and let everybody else find their way. :)

I personally also don't believe the Twin-Tip Foil will be a big thing, but is more a catchpenny for most twin tipers afraid of the challenge: directional and foil...

But Mischa from http://www.kitejunkie.com and I don't really know, so we have already ordered an http://ierofoil.com/en/
to see whats about it.

Also if I am sure on the end it's not for Toby and boosting, but more a slow mode balance fun toy. At least it seems to be cheap and solid, we will report here when tried the next days.

Also the concept of the Litewave makes at least more sense in my eyes than:
- the "huindi" http://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=19 ... 6&start=10 or
- the "brunotti" http://forum.oase.com/showthread.php?p= ... ost1280116
which was already tried by a shop in austria who wrote in my words:
"Just tried in bad conditions, but seems to be difficult to ride, won't order one for the shop"

Bernd,
Kitefoiler, Monofoiler and maybe soon Twinfoiler 8)

And that perception is perhaps the biggest difference between the directional kbhf proponents and the tthf supporters.

Where you experienced challenge and achievement with directional and foiling, and overcame your fears, others may find other motivators.

Such as, how much higher can I boost with a tthf? Can I raley it? If I overrotated and need to land blind, can I do it?

I'm excited by the possibilities!

That seems like the best one to choose.
There is very little information about how they expect the twin foils to work.
Are they working like normal wings, where the rear one pushes down? - or are they like Canard wings, but with more lift from the front one?
Either way, it would seem the centre of lift should be some distance from the centre of the board.
If they do both lift in a Canard way, it might improve things to reverse both wings so the leading edges are inward facing. Then the rear wing should produce the most lift, and it would mean the centre of lift was nearer the centre of the board.

Hi ronnie,

I am sure most of them work as a canard with two lifting wings, to have the center of lift around the middle. But this means they are more instable in pitch then normal foils and if you look at the videos you may also see this instability. It always remembers me to the monofoil, which for sure is even more instable. And also the guy from Austria in the German forum said that about the brunotti, which might be also even more instable, because of the soft inflateable deck. So if this is all true, a twintip foil is not the, from many expected, "easy like a twin tip but a foil" miracle, but the contrary.

And the huindi works as seen as a normal foil with a moveable fuselage. But if it is like in the video, that you have to stop and take a bath to switch ... where is the point? Maybe improvable, but don't think so.

Yes, think ierofoil is still the best overall concept, we will see.

twintip foil is awesome, hope it works. The more gear the merrier, it's not like a twintip hydrofoil would ever supplant a directional any more than a strapped surfboard supplants a strapless one. You want both.

Horst Sergio: let us know what Mischa had to say after he tried it!

I think what keeps more people away from hydrofoils is the jibing. So there is a market for sure for the TT HF.

If the wind is too light for em to have fun on TT, why not take a TT HF and do my stuff with it? Sounds fun ;-)
