I heard back from Zeeko that they should be releasing the larger wingset at the end of the month. I'm curious on the price and how large/slow they decide to go.
Any update yet? It's not on the website ;)

I sent them another email a few days ago and haven't heard back yet.

Looks good. Not too big. I hope XLW wings did not kill the "Spitfire magic".

and clearly not only for light wind!

Looks like the chord on the back wing got a bit bigger but span is roughly similar.

The front wing looks considerably bigger which hopefully will make it less sensitive to getting a bit too much pressure on the front and pushing it down

Wings look quite different...squared off as compared to the rounder former setup.

Dear All

here is a short edit about the ability of the XLW spitfire.
New wings will be available for shipment 17th of July

About the sizes, span is close to the standard wings, we increased the surface area (total surface 800cm² instead of 590cm²). It gives a earlier take off without sacrificing the turning ability.
You loose a little of the top speed and control in big waves. We make it for waves <1.5m.

For me I keep the standard Spitfire for waves higher than 1.5m and take the XLW in waves smaller than 1.5m.

I want more subjective info. How does it feel? Who does it suit? Lots of great riding in that edit, but as a strapless foiler much of it is not what I'm personally looking for. Want to see you riding waves much as you were doing in the first few spitfire clips only perhaps slower and tighter to the pocket.

The feeling is very close to the standard spitfire, just the take off speed is lower and the max speed reduced a little (25knots instead of 30knots for the standard one).
About the waves, for the last months, we had almost no waves where I live. But from my experience, the standard spitfire is a must for bigger waves than 1.5m where the control is very important or when I want to be fast in turns.
About the strapless use, it is effortless, I rode it last week with my mini pocket (108X46cm) and it was a very nice experience as the take off speed is improved making it easier to use with very small boards.

The rear wing area increase less than the front wing to keep it as fast in turns as the standard version.
The surface and the outline are not the only parameters tuned between the XLW and the standard spitfire: AoA, Profile etc.. are also trimmed to make the change easy.

Regards
Nicolas
