I’ve seen one in San Diego.

Not fast enough for the racers.

Not pumpable enough for the surf-foil crowd.

Different enough to scare away people buying their 1st foil, to learn on.

Not lightweight enough for people buying their 2nd foil. They already have an aluminum foil. They want carbon.
That about sums it up....

Plenty fast enough for freeriders
Seems like there is still some pumpability, sustained flight, extra acceleration with minimal kiteage, but, sure, I haven't tested in the case of zero kite. Honestly just watching people flat water pumping makes me suffer from heart failure already...
Different in a good way, very compact, mostly blunt, safer behaviour, those are definite positive points for people to learn on, nothing to be scared of, and maybe it just needs more emphasis/marketing push on that front. (I'm more happy to get my 12y.o. to learn on it, for instance, while I wouldn't allow him near anything else yet.)
I've never had carbon, weight is still pretty reasonable, definitely lighter than some other aluminium foils, like the Slingshot. Weight also means bombproof wings.

Anyway, I'm not trying to evangelize the world, but it's definitely fueling my stoke.

I have to learn to read the swell better.
I keep getting sucked into staying on the wave too long and end up in the breaking section, which is a bitch when I turn to get back outside.

Sweet video. Looks like these guys were having a blast. Makes me want to try a Spitfire. Good kite choice too. :D

Heres my video. Riding foils for just 6 month now, still no expert.
I think it gives a good idea of the spitfire wing's quick turning/carving capabilities at slow speeds. Great image training when no waves to surf.
Im using XLW spitfire wing, strapless, 70cm mast. 9m2 kite in 10 to 15 knots very gusty side on.

That shows the Spitfire agility.
That agility certainly saved me a few arse whippings by some breakers the other day.

Yes. Having a big bulky front wing doesn't seem to help in the agility. Spitfire seems to achieve very similar lift of larger wings while staying a lot smaller. I have a hard time going back to other wings, they feel more stuck "on rails". Which I guess is good for speed racing/upwind? Like comparing a cessna to a jet plane.
Not that good yet but it feels like pumping the spitfire is centered more on the backfoot. It takes some getting used to.
