Down haul rope?
are you talking about a windsurfer foil rig?

Yes. I am using my XXLW for kitefoil, Sup, Surf, and Windfoil.
And seeing as I have never Sup’d in Surf and it’s been over 12yrs since I last prone surfed (badly)
It will be a fun adventure.
The board in pic is set up to take the Spitfire or std. Windfoil plus Sup/Surf position.

Dear Nicolas,
Because the spitfire XXLW looks "so simple" to ride, would you recommend it for a beginner (with a good level in surf strapless) or do you think the Alloy Blaster is better to begin?
Best,
Pascal
Dear Paskite,
this is a very interesting question.
In fact if you know how to hydrofoil with a conventionnal foil,it will take a few rides to get dialed with the new behavior of the spitfire (back foot pressure during turns).
But as a beginner, there is no trouble to learn with the spitfire XXLW (it is not easier, it is different, even if I love the way the spitfire behaves during crash, nose diving).
The difference between the blaster and the spitfire XXLW: The Spitfire will take off earlier, turn easier at very low speed when the blaster (also a super easy foil) will go faster and will turn quick even at higher speed.
It depends on you. But if you want one foil to also try surfoiling, this is the spitfire which do the job.
Ride easy
Nicolas

My initial try’s of pumping. With 90cm mast and kite.
Seems to indicate that pumping with front foot bias is like stomping on concrete while the best drive forward was achieved using even foot pressure.
But even that was a push down with lots of resistance then a surge forward.
Done with kite drifting backwards and zero line tension so not time to keep pumping.
Is there something I’m missing? This pumping thing is a whole new thing for me and my only experience is the Spitfire. I have at this point no geriatric foil to compare
Hi,
yes you could pump on the spitfire, but as for other foil, you need to train, train, train. For pumping finally I moove a little forward the mast on my board,

Will the XXLW wings fit the kite foil? or would I need to get a new fuselage?
for the screws and other, yes we recommand to use the Windfoil plate which is reinforced and longer screws (supplied with the XXLW wings), and use same fuselage
I personnaly use the XXLW wings for both Supfoiling, surfoiling and kitefoiling. Max speed is about 20knots of speed, which is enough for most of the riders and the turning ability is awesome for such surface of wings.
regards
Nicolas
where can the xxl wings be purchased ?

A session the other day in on off wind in flat water had me maybe not pumping as such but getting max height on foil then a slow dive that seemed to get plenty of glide I used this in lulls to keep moving and keep line tension.
Not much energy expended just a technique.
Also used it on some passing boat wakes that proved useful.

Hello Spitfire pilots. I ride Spitfire. I enjoy the flight characteristics and appreciate the safety aspects. I am wondering why I don't see many others at the beaches I kite at: Hawaii and West coast USA. Are they just extremely rare or are there concentrations of Spitfire Foilers in other parts of the world? Give a shout, let's know where you are and how many others in your area.

I’ve seen one in San Diego.
Not fast enough for the racers.
Not pumpable enough for the surf-foil crowd.
Different enough to scare away people buying their 1st foil, to learn on.
Not lightweight enough for people buying their 2nd foil. They already have an aluminum foil. They want carbon.

Interesting answer gbrunga. And, very insightful into the psychology of foilers!
Your last comment touches on the one issue I have with the Spitfire. Weight. And, it is one of the reasons I want to know where the existing Spitfire foilers are. I am exploring possibilities to get a lighter setup for those that love their Spit but want a lighter rig.

South coast U.K.There are 2 of us at our local spot.
love the Spitfire and for me it's a keeper.
Not to say I won't try or get other foils but it's just great fun.
Finances come into I would love to try all foils on the market but for now the Spitfire is making me smile and I can't see that changing.
