I was thinking it would be easier to foil. I'm a total noob trying to learn, so I don't really know anything. Just saw that many hydrofoil boats have the trim wand and wondered if it would work. Not for speed, for ease.

It's insanely hard for the first 10 hours and then after a couple months you'll wonder why you ever struggled, it will become completely second nature like riding a bike.

Can imagine the size of the vessel is also pretty key to the wand systems working. The hull of a moth is longer than the swell period, so the wand at the bow is reacting to changes in surface height before it gets to the foil. Even so when swell gets to more than a couple feet, Moths can no longer foil well. The current wind/conditions range of KBHF's is massive in comparison.
Big AC's are much bigger and can therefor handle bigger seas.
KBHF's can handle big conditions compared to moths precisely because the user can see what is ahead, use judgement in anticipating what level to maintain through oncoming swell and react accordingly before reaching any given swell. A reactive system like a wand on such a short craft might not be very effective.

Ok, I get it. Dumb idea. I'm going to Mexico and taking foil with me and have lessons booked. I'm like that kid looking on as others ride bikes without training wheels and feel like I'll never get rid of mine...

Very good explanation Starsky
I also think that's the point.
And additionally I think time for beginner are getting better with the new bigger and slower wings as the shown Zeeko carver and others. I tried the new large wing from levitaz which will come out in spring I and was very impressed how slow and easy a foil can be on one hand but on the other hand still being fast and reactive which sounds inconsistent but was my first short impression.
