Here's my compact board.
I didn't use a boogie board in the end. I used random left over off cuts of bamboo and carbon. I repurposed the deck grip on my mutant.
So this board cost zero $$$. No wait. I purchased a box of laytex gloves for $12.

How did it go with your beerholder, ahem, I mean skimboard Bletti ?

Motivated by your post here I took mine out today with a 12 m2, when the wind died but before it was totally over, after having had fun in 6-7 m2 wind at first on my "big" 118 Ketos Pocket board.

It was a lot easier now, than the last time long ago - because now I KNOW how difficult it is to handle, and what to avoid

Some odd wipeouts also at first, using the bigger wing and short mast, but cool to try it again.

Haha, that is about what I looked like on my skim board too! It wasn't bad if I could quickly pop up in a single kiteloop up foiling, but it sure didn't touch down gracefully or transition from riding on the surface to foiling as seamless as my shinnster. I like how light and responsive it was but I sure didn't look as graceful on it. I had to fly back to Canada and could only bring one foil board so I only had one session on the skimboard but I'll maybe pull it out again in 6 months once I'm nailing ever tack and gybe. I think being so flat isn't great, so when I get around to building a pocketboard I'll make sure to put on a fair bit of nose rocker.

The first thing you learn, is to always keep an eye on where your board is - as it is TOTALLY invisible if there is even the slightest waves/chop, being totally flat in line with the water surface, and not over

I found that you could use the anklesnapper chop waves to get up and going easier when underpowered, for "takeoff":

Someone on the Brm cloud facebook group recommended mounting a rubberduck to the nose of small low float boards for added visibility. I half want to jokingly use a big pink dildo, but I'm worried the joke would end up with me losing an eye, a sore throat, or much worse!!

Ha haa, great idea (at least the rubberduck), will do that

Beware the IRE with a front mounted dildo.

I finally got around to mounting a skim board that was given to me to my spitfire. Took less than a half hour to unscrew the plate from my shinnster, drill and epoxy the holes, and then reassemble in time for a beer as there's no wind today!

How did it go with your skimfoil Bletti ?


Its been 3 months now since you made it, so curious

I find them too small and difficult, so fun just doing it as I said, and thats it
Maybe yours is bigger, my skimboard is just under 3 feet long and with a pointy nose.

PS: Plummet, did your board work or have you altered the trim since ?
It looks like the straps are extremely far forward, as you balance almost over the wing or front of the wing usually.
