Only if the epoxy can coat it fully, but hardly possible?
No risk trying though.

TefGel all over the screws to keep it from continuing, as galvanic corrosion because of two very incompatible materials when in salt water.

You might be able to remove it with sand paper.

But you still need TefGel to keep it down in the future.

Aluminium foils are a really crap marketing joke. They're heavy and expensive for what you get and you're stuck with a maintenance workload for no real benefit.

What a load of BS. There is a lot of great alufoils on the market: Zeeko, Alpinefoil,Gong,Moses....
Sure they require a little maintenance ( rinse with freshwater, and use Tefgel on all screws. Performance is almost identical (unless you are racing)
Price is way cheaper than carbon: My Gong Freewave complete set (alu mast/fuselage / carbon wings) is 529 EUR /833 AUD .
Same version in full carbon is 1029 EUR.
Weight difference is 400g.

Won't help, I wasn't able to find any epoxy, glue or coating that sticks to hard anodized aluminum so everything that I tried on mu Moses fuselage to stop corrosion fell off eventually and didn't stop further corrosion at all as it continued underneath the coating.

Got to disagree with that comment, performance is more than likely better on an alloy mast than a carbon mast except for racing. Alloy is just stiffer, much more direct feel. I use a carbon mast on my smaller wings, but go to alloy for the bigger high aspect wings, just too much flex in the carbon masts. And the maintenance really is minor, I cover all joints with marine grease, wipe off the excess, no corrosion at all.

Steel is even stiffer for the same dimensions. Also carbon can be al lot stiffer for the same mast cross section compared to aluminum, when you use the correct layup and not the cheapest fibers. Not all carbon is created equal...

It depends. I've had my aluminum foil for several years. A bit of tefgel every once in a while and rinse it after every session. Never had a problem.
For what it cost me, after five or six years of use, it could fall apart right now and it would still feel not expensive to me. However, it still runs strong and get me in and out of the water every time.

Don't know about racing, but it's perfectly fun toy. Each to his own. I don't think is a marketing joke. It's a less expensive product that still delivers results.
