Pedro, you say 12m is not a light wind kite. What would you say the bottom end is? I'm currently using 12m switchblade so looking for an improvement on that.

With a freestyle/freeride foil the low end its about 9-10 knots, where the older model is 7-8 knots. The 15m has the 7-8 low end but its REALLY slow.

Hi Pedro , have you tried the different front bridal setting on the 12m v3 ? Ive only had mine on the foil setting.

And what setting is that ? More forward or more rear ?

Assume it is more forward, to get more depower range and not less bar pressure (bar pressure is good in hydrofoiling, as we ride so "low powered" that we lack the feel otherwise IMO)

Hi,

On the 12m V3 i changed back and forward quite a few times between the foil setting (more deepower) and the "middle setting" , but because i use this kite mostly in very light winds 7-8 knots, i prefer the kite in the middle setting, i dont need the extra deepower the "foil setting" gives me because i dont kite in the upper end of the kite. I just came from another session on this kite, flat water and 7-10 knots, and its a great kite for that.

Thanks Pedro, I will try it on the other settings . I've just went from 28m lines to 32m lines to see if I get down below 8 kts.

Yes the longer lines help abit, also help if you are not on a full race foil, because even if it would be good after starting, it will require more speed to lift of the water and that can be a problem.

Has someone tested the new Storm Voyager v4 in 9m? I'm looking for a 8/9m for foiling and waves.

Hmmm, I think some or many are confused now...

As far as I understand there is no "Storm voyager 4" or v4, but it is a nickname some uses here (just like the v3) - but which series are they talking about ?

Storm call them 2018 instead of 4 or v4, but they got three different series, very different:

The Voyager Light Speed, one thin strut higher AR that goes incredibly upwind, good hangtime, and huge windrange. 12 / 15 m2. The one Pedro addresses in here, but think it misleads some....

The Voyager Limited Edition, strutless that is the next evolution of Voyager II and III. 8 / 12 / 16 m2. Has not been discussed in this thread, yet.

The Voyager Free-Ride, three strut allround kites also in smaller sizes. 5 / 7 / 9 / 11 m2.

The post below might confuse, as Pedro are NOT talking about the Limited Edition, which is the one that should be compared with the Voyager 3 (and not the performing "race" like type, Light-Speed):

I fly Storm Voyagers 3 strutless. Both 12 and 15. I use them for foiling. In my opinion the 15 is useable in much less wind than the 12. I'm app. 80 kg and riding a Moses Fluente and Vorace setup. I know you can move a smaller kite faster around, but a downstroke with 30 m lines on the 15 gets you going in next to no wind. I'll say that 6-7 knots are my limit with the 15 m.
The Voyager 3 have better low end then the 4.
It makes no sense comparing, when not being specific about which series one compares  No offense on you Pedro, as you KNOW which one you are talking about, but for readers in here it is not obvious, so would just clarify :D

Yes ive only tested the V3 12m, the Voyager Light Speed 12m and 15m. Ive no idea about the other new models.

BUT, im not the one who called voyager 4, and the topic author described it by the one with a single strut in the middle, which is the one ive owned :)
