I agree on October 2017 Slingshot line - whoever advocated “fast, high jumping wings” (by snapping 2016/2017 Moses racewings stock right before Moses announced 649 fuselage, 637/590/633/683S wings etc) didn’t do company a good service. At least I personally had a facepalm moment last October seeing the new line as I was buying 548 and was craving for more lift, more lowend wings.WH Lithuania wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 3:57 pm... Moses foils with Slingshot logos are last year Moses models and priced more than this year Moses models so I would never buy Slingshot. But a lot of people don't know it and just buys the brand.
But also bunch of foilers on the forum back then were giving me “oh, large wings are for beginners, you just need to learn to ride” speech and today large wings are have taken over foiling market, driving the sales and freeride foilers love them.
And what if someone told you that some of the best Moses wings are Slingshot design. 590/633 are the miracles to thank for all the designers/gods and they’re still current, even though Slingshot had 7 month delay on them.
Slingshot 590/633 are prettier, show more carbon and don’t look like a piece of plastic (an opportunity to improve for Moses) so there's reason to prefer home brand.
Slingshot missed an opportunity to come ahead of Moses as they could have been the company releasing 873 (as they did release 86/84 HG wings) and 81cm mast and 32”/36/42” pocket boards like KS does (who in the world wants carbon hypermiller which is neither light, nor is a race foilboard).
And Slingshot should have been the first making “larger/thicker than 590” wing for 647/680 fuselage to revert the trend (GW riders snapping 590’s all 2018 spring/summer long).
Should have, could have, would have is not a winner talk but guys are not blind, they know prices and offering of Moses - competition does miracles to consumers and there's a lot to expect in 2019.
