I am considering a new 12m hyperlink. Frank have you got any experience with this size. I already have a 8m cabrinha apollo and a 12m apollo. I am too scared to take out the 12m apollo in light winds at our local spot where we have a very strong outgoing tide that takes you straight out in the ocean over a very nasty bar. I love the feeling of the apollo. Featherlight bar pressure. Just about impossible to get the 12m up again in very light wind.

Yes, I have used the 12m Hyperlink and can say that it would be my choice for the conditions you describe.
Currently I do not have one in use as I jump from the 9m HL to bigger R1, but for dodgy light wind conditions the HL would be my preference again.
It keeps flying in very light winds and chances to relaunch are quite good in winds when tube kites may not even fly or at least are close to impossible to get back up out of the water again.
This I can say from my own experience about the regular version. Then there is also an UL version available.

it seems there are 3 really good foil kites for marginal wind, priced about the same, and not being racefoilkites:

Ozone Hyperlink Ultralight.
Conceptair Pulsion Light.
PANSH Aurora II.

Anybody dare to take a shot at the differences ?
Also weight, if anyone got a clue, compared

Pansch 12 costs 569 usd complete. But China direct, so not a fair comparison

I do not have personal experience but I was under impression that A15 from Pansh would be better fit for marginal wind than Aurora 2?

I have no idea. The Aurora is higher aspect.

I do not know Pansh Kites, but have flown Pulsion 18m and HL 12m a lot. Theirs light wind abilities are incomparable.
At my 90kG I use HL from 9-10 knots and it falls into the drink in larger lols due to unfortunate weight distribution.

Additional zippers and velcro at each air inlet (for the conversion to open cell kite) are at the cost of weight at leading edge. And that makes HL prone to dive at luls.

That is true that with enough patience you can lift it even after 20 min and you won't see much of water coming out of tips.

Pulsion light version you can keep in the air at 3-4 knots if you apply proper body dragging position to go upwind. Downloop at 5-6 knots will take you flying. That is the kite that in marginal conditions brings me home most reliably out of all the kites I had till now.

If you shorten the lines to 18-20m, both of them you can use for jumping.

Which (the 12m Hyperlink UL) I used today.
First on 18m lines which is what I use on super light days on the 19m R1V2, but actually out on the water the wind was not as light as expected, So a friend of mine who was also using his Hyperlink 12m switched to the Hyperlink 9m (both on 25m lines) while I only switched to another bar with 10m lines while staying with the 12m Hyperlink UL.
I just wanted to try this as I really enjoyed the 9m HL on this bar lately and thought now is the time to give it a go on the 12.
And I have to say I did like it a lot. Roll-tacks especially, great timing, very smooth. Downwind jibes including a loop where a little more tricky in droppings winds, but still doable.
Had a good time. Will add a 12m HL to my personally quiver again, just need to decide between normal version and UL still.

HL 12m on 10m lines? Hmmm you've got me thinking. Currently I'm using 14 or 15m lines on 60cm bar. Quite an improvement compared to 20m. However 10m is intriguing. Do you get enough power boost in a downloop with them in lower end?
