Windfoil is now welcomed to the Spitfire club

Today attached XXLW foil to pocket board.
Extreemly low take of speed. Lot of resistance allow to start without looping 18m Pulsion. I never rode in so low wind. Problem with loose lines has gone, as the gybe speed is sooooo low.
Giga front foot pressure needed, as I didn’t tune it before first session. Rode for some 500m 2cm below water surface without any sign of ventilation. And there is no AWS on this set!
I’m curious to try it on sunday in 2m short Baltic waves.
Will let you know the outcome with my slightly modified Soul 6m.

Just rode my new XL wings today. Had a humming resonance to the foil/board that came on as I started to accelerate/foil. Once up and stable on the foil it disappeared. Came in, tightened all the connections....still there the second session. Is this happening to others with the new batch of XL wings? Mine are white.

Are you the kind of guy who would slag a guitar manufacturer if the guitar needed tuning?
Surely there has to be sheet of 300 grit and maybe a bottle of isopropanol accessible to you.
‘Cause you should clean the foil, too.
Then sand TEs at the correct angles.
And don’t forget to wash behind your ears!

Yup, mine are white also. Im thinking its the AVS ... I coated the wings with glazing filler and sanded them off. Amazing the flaws you find when leveling off new wings....we'll see if it changes its tune....

First time tried XL with AVS.
A bit overpowered in sideoff 15-30knots with Soul 6 on 17 m lines equipped with 2 jet brakes to keep him slower and deeper in WW. It was really a challege for me to test 3 things at a time:
AVS XL wings,
Soul with breake
and
my adaptability to head high waves after 6 weeks below12 knots and flat lake water.
Closer to survival than testing.
But, XL did not send me any sign of ventilation even when crossing breake perpendiculary, not any sudden lack of balance. Also not any whistles at all, but my speed tuday was far from fast.
Later on I tried Reo 4m with XXL and that was unrideble. 21 m lines were to short to give long enogh pull. And I was to slooow to go downwave. More testing tomorrow, on flat water and winds below 12 knots with Soul 10.
