Hi All of you.

I have question i think related to this subject. Im now making my new strapless board 130x48 - Ketos pocket board / Groove skate - inspired. I can make it either 2cm thick so it will have 10l volume or 4 cm thick so it will have 20l volume. Both will be sufficiently stiff and I much prefer 2 cm because I can laminate it in one shot /for 4 cm i must use different 2 shot process/.
My wing is big Moses Onda 633. So my question is: Do these 10l makes significant difference in marginal wind /on board this small/? My weight is 90kg.

Many thanks!

Tomas
It really depends on what you call "marginal" winds, i realized for some this are like 7-8knots, where for others 4-5 knots, and there is a huge difference between the gear you need to ride in this 2 types of conditions.

For 7-8 your 2cm board will be fine with the appropriate kite choice, for 4-5 it will be a huge challenge even with the appropriate kite.

Many thanks for answers. My marginal will be Sonic 2 11 with Moses 633 and 90kg marginal :). I have no plan for bigger kite. My skills are biggest limit at the moment
My estimate is 7 knots. I very like Peters thought about use it as smaller board when lower thickness is actually advantage. I have no problem to make and use many boards. /only for plane traveling it is issue/
