Levitaz Bionic

Iā€™m currently riding freeride foils, can do flying gybe but only surface tacks. Looking at a quicker foil just to going places on the bay but will keep my freeride foil for playing in the chop.
The Levitaz Bionic has been out for awhile and are available secondhand but I wonder if it may be too much of a step up. Does anyone have experience with this foil?

I've heard the new ones (with bigger stabilizer) are really good, but the old one with the tiny seagull wing stabilizer was pretty twitchy, making it difficult to ride. That's pretty much the same with all race fouls though. The new generation is much more stable and easier to ride.

Did they change the fuselage length when they increased the size of the rear stab or could you buy an older one and replace the stab to improve performance?

You need to change the stab + fuse. New race fuse is even shorter than the freeride one. If you ride the Bionic with excessive front foot pressure you won't have any instability Downwind. But you need to get used to this setup. If you don't set it up correctly because you don't like so much pressure you will struggle big time at high speeds and gybing.

For anyone interested: I have a 2017 Bionic with prepreg 110 mast laying idle since I switched to Moses Comet 2018. ā‚¬1200,-

Update, bought the Bionic on the 110 mast. First day out had to move the mast to the rear to stop the bunny hopping but after that no probs. sweet stable ride, bloody quick. Will take a bit of time before I can push the speed through the gybes but all good fun. Thanks for your comments.

Intriguing how a shorter fuselage improves stability, thought it would do the opposite. Maybe more to do with a larger stab.
