Long bay is tough...especially by the kite beach on the north end. I would suggest going as far south as you can go...the water gets deeper the further south you go. There are a few public access beaches as you go south on long bay beach rd. Just past Windhaven Villas is a good one. I have foiled there quite frequently...its even possible at low tide on Moses Vorace with 101cm mast.
I know exactly what you are talking about. But is there a place I can park my car to accesss?

I went to T&C about a month ago and had a blast on my foil (Fluente 91cm). The trick is to kite in the southern half of Long Bay Beach. Above that (where the kite schools stay) is too shallow. I was foiling in all tides and didn't have a problem. Also it's great that the bottom is only sand.
