I like the look of those low profile and short foot hooks. The current ones are so big it’s like a lever. If the hook doesn’t break then the force is transmitted to the board. I pulled a Chinook insert out of the board with one of the bigger Klingon EVA foot hooks and I broke a few plastic ones.

I use the hook only for holding the board when doing water start, so I like the low profile of the EVA foam.

Tried the hooks but they broke. I now use a front strap that runs across the board attached to both outer front footstrap locations. The strap is tight, I can't put my foot all the way in, just a few toes but enough for waterstarting and you never get caught in a crash. It also is soft on the feet and doesn't break. I use this setup on my surf and race foil.

Take Slingshot foothooks and reinforce the lower half with 3mm stainless steel - works brilliant!

Been using my slingshot foothooks for 110 Hrs+ on board, no breaking

Also specifications such as what size PVC pipe. I see one example looks like it is gray which is schedule 80 and one white example which is schedule 40.

Thanks for the help! I boost and do freestyle with the Slingshot hooks, that's probably why they broke. Tried the 3mm steel below, doesn't seem to help at all. Can you post a few pics?
