Hi all, i am a newbie to foiling, (been kiting for the last 10 years or so and really want to get into foils), I am wondering if this 2015 Liquid Force Rocket Fish Foil is a good option for learning and advancing on.
I plan to attach it to an old surfboard that i fit out with a 2 track system to bolt it onto.
Would appreciate any advice on if it is a good way to start....

Yeah. I learnt on it.
Dedicate yourself to it. And you should be up and foiling by your 5th session. And improving a little bit with every session.
Ah the memories.

It will be a good setup for both learning, and for riding waves and freestyle - not fast but that is not the trend nowadays anyways

I learned on this one too. It lifts early, is slow, and is bomb-proof, all of which are great for beginners. Be sure to check the inserts for excessive corrosion. Many beginners don’t appreciate the care that is required for aluminum foils.

Learned on one as well. Not the best wings but they're easy to learn on. There are some great surf/sup aftermarket wings for it now. There are also the Happy Foil wings on sale for it at a decent price since LF has new models. They're a direct fit and would give you a lot more room to progress. Stick a carbon fuse and some Happy Foil wings on there and you'll be set after you've learned the basics.

Very good setup for learning and progressing and should cost you $400 or so. Good way to start

Fine to learn on, but you'll want something else as soon as you're riding confidently and have tried a different foil.
If you're going to pay more than $400, spend it on something like the Axis Ride foil that will see you through more years.

I liked mine, it got me hooked. Start off with it as far back in the tracks as possible as I recall a ton of front foot pressure in the default mounting spot on the2015 Rocket Foil board I learned on.

I learnt on one too, up and in some sort of control by session 6. You should replace all the Allen Head bolts with A2 or A4 Torx head bolts; the Allen head bolts that it comes with are made of cheese they are so soft! It will cost a few quid but save you from the frustration of a jammed bolt in the future.
