Hey all. Had a massive speed run a few days ago on an a foil and BRM Cloud and instantly got addicted. Invested into Moses Comet, race board and R1V2. Now trying to learn the course race wisdom, but can’t find any solid info online. Can you help?

Not a lot of info out there it seems, the tacking and gybing advice above is right on. Also use lobster or other buoys while on the water to practice rounding marks and to figure out your laylines for different wind strengths/ kites. Some other things I have learned: keep the kite low while going upwind, tip just above the water. And the speed crouch/taking a sh*t posture is very effective when going upwind to hold onto more power and keep ventilations under control (check the videos or pics of how the Bridge brothers ride upwind for example).

You need to get out with others and race upwind to a mark and downwind to a mark.
Preferably with racers that have some experience. Reading about it ain't gonna do much.
I did my first race 3 weeks ago, at the Swedish national championship. I came last, didn't finish the race series ( I'm not only Newbi racer, I can't fly through tacks, and I'm older).
What I learned is that going upwind is way more strenuous than Freeriding around. Comparison riding a bike on flat ground to riding up 6% hill.
You have to be able to fly tack and do fast downwind gybes to just be in the race for real.
Foil kites, long mast and racing wing are next progression after that.
One guy had F-one breeze kites and he did pretty good because he could fly tack and go fast without falling.

Come out to some races!
The US Nationals is in Chicago this year, they're doing a "green fleet" for first time racers to get the hang of it.
