I wonder if the 749 would be better for jumping. I’ve been told numerous times that you shouldn’t jump the 633 due to risk of damage on a bad landing. Since I ride strapless, it was never a concern but I’d love to have that option.

Would have doupts as wing span is biggest problem for jumping that higher span has less problem.

But can you or anybody clarify if jumping with the actual light 633 Onda is strictly forbidden by moses or not recomended or if brocken decided from case to case if it is warranty or not? Thanks

That I would like to know as well. I've was told this info from a Moses rider in Miami. He was saying something about additional stress on the fuselage which would end up breaking bolts. I'm thinking about getting the 683S for more speed and to jump with but I don't know if that would be a better option.

- front wing on 710 is ~15mm closer to the mast (reduced need to move mast around when switching from 590. For me it's usually a 25-30mm move and folks on Moses boards can't move the mast at all)
I'm not sure about that as the leverage force of the shorter rear part of the fuselage. will try the 710 fuselage the next days.
The stabilizer is pushing down so when located closer to mast it should produce less downward torque in the back, therefore needing less front foot pressure which compensates for downward torque from stabilizer
That should also help keeping mast where is, again reducing need to move it back switching from 590 to 633

I'd be waiting for your "field test" - obviously folks are interested knowing difference 710 vs. 749 and hoping for 450 vs 483 stabilizer comparison too

683s is thinner than 633, lower area and higher aspect - I'd expect to squeeze more sped out of it and I'll know myself when I'm in OBX in just few days and I will be comparing 683s to 633 side by side

I don't jump with foil, just as I wouldn't take a sword onto trampoline so won't be able to comment on that :)

Jumping on foil is awesome and I wouldn't accept to miss it, so for me it is the relevant point. It need not to be dangerous as long you always have enough control to not place your face over your trailing edge while landing

My experience from around a dozen of broken foils I have seen (not all by me  ) It is never just about lever caused by displaced strut into the back of the wing and pressure point being in front of front wing. For the board yes this plays a role for the wing to strut conection it is mostly about torsional loads, the slimer conection diameter is and the higher the wing span is the higher is the risk, not just in jumping but also when surfacing one wing half completely it is nearly the same load like jumping. If position of strut would play a relevant role I wouldn't have any problem to bomb on this one, which I don't do as it also has 70 cm span.

Image

Surface in total and its distribution also plays a role, why I could imagine if moses accept jumping on a 637 race wing but may be not on a high surface beginner/surf wing like 633. But would be happy if somebody could clarify before I switch all my gear to moses. The onda I would anyway ride with an own fuselage with aligned wing and strut trailing edges like on the picture.

Need advice. I am 220 pounds, I am an intermediate freerider (foil) riding strapless. I want a foil that has good low end but that can also do some decent speed. Most posts on this tread seem to point towards the Moses 633 wing, although its aspect ratio is very low. What about the 683S, how much low end would I loose, and finally should I really consider the new 720...

So confusing...
What are you riding today?
I had a North Speedster which I have sold, before that an Alpine foil which lacked low end even with the XLP wing. Awesome speed and not noisy, North had more low end but the noise it generated was terrible plus the drag was awful it was like pulling an anchor.

I’ve just got my new toy. 743 Surf fuselage with mast mount positioned 40mm forward (closer to the wing)

Is this the new 710, or something custom?
