I was thinking that turning with part of a tip out of the water with a small mast might be good. I could go really slow but also real fast, I can use smaller kites and cavitate one side of the wing and still have enough wing to fly...

So, all this looked grate to me; of course, I haven't tried it. jaja
The w800 is probably the better option for that

anyone tried the W 1000 for kiting ?
Yes. I have kited with it a few times. It works. It has great lowend, but it needs a pretty big radius to turn, and other than going really fast in really light wind with a small kite, it is not really that practical for Kitefoil applications.

It is amazing for winging.

Gunnar,

that's great info, thanks once again!
How would you compare the low ends of 633 and 1000 wings for winging application, and what's your low end for these wings with 5m2 or 6m2 Wasps you have, and which of the 633 or 1000 wing would you prefer for small waves/swell (assuming at low end of range for each wing), please?

The Low Ends of the 633 and 1000 are quite similar for winging. This is pretty mich where the similarity ends. Once you are up and flying they cannot be compared fairly. The 1000 is way faster and also pumps better as it keep the speed up easily. The 633 is more agile and surfing top to bottom on larger waves it is the one I would go for at the moment. The 1000 totally kicks ass in swell and for downwinders. I was out on it today in 2ft windswell and it was a blast. Endless glide and acceleration. I am so looking forward to some really downwind conditions with proper swell , it is going to be epic with the 1000.

My Lowend with the 6m with both the 633 and 1000 is about 15 knots. Under that I can make it work, but it is usually too much work. The 5m works from about 18 knots.

FYI I am currently testing the 1000 and 800 with the new S400 stabiliser.

Here is some raw footage from todays w800 test.

680 and 647 are kite fuselages which 671/800/1000 would fit onto

We have good winds and good wind swells along our large coast line and I am thinking that epic downwind trips (or up and down) with a small good drift kite like the peak 4 and a large foil might be my next frontier.
I also think that the w1000 (w790?) might be good since (It seems) I can go fast and slow (and grate upwind angle); does this seem good thinking? Thanks

In theory yes. Although I would tend to go with the 800 if using a kite. However it is so fast that I have doubts about even the Peak 4 being able to drift with it. In my video I was even overtaking my wing with almost no swell pushing me. I imagine in big swell the speed will be too much for any kite to handle.

Thanks Gunnar, what I don't understand yet is: is it easier to go slow with a slow foil? Otherwise, it would seem to me that a wing that can go both slow and fast is intrinsically better than one that only go slow?
Also, the 1000 can go slower (for a 85kg rider) without stalling than the 800?
