We just need a drag vs speed graph for a 60, 80 and 100 Kg person. That would say a lot about the actual result.
Boat, tow rope with loadcell (possibly mounted off to the side so that the rider is outside of the boats wake). Boat starts fast and gradually slows down until the foil stalls. While speed and loadcell gets recorded.
Someone like FoilingNY will definatwly be able to pull something like that off and add to his current tests. It will give great data
Speaking of outrunning waves I have a strong feeling that cruising speed depends primarily on profile thickness (or frontal wing projection). Waves are just asking for thicker profile to not outrun them. Same thick profile would be boring as hell for anything else
I was expecting the 92cm mast to be released soon. Probably good for someone looking for a crossover mast for kite-foiling and wing foiling, although i expect it has a little more drag than the 91cm mast (in exchange for more stiffness).
So any ideas when the 2021 gear is going to be released? I’m itching for a new foil and getting impatient!
The 91 mast seems to have been pushed sideways to the youth program, the new 92 looks to be of the same stile as the heavy/thicker 82? Will there be a “skinny” new 91?
What's everyone's opinion on how much more improvement we can expect to current moses kite hydrofoil designs?
I feel like the Moses (SAB) kite foil range covers pretty much every style and discipline of kite hydrofoil (550, 590, 670, 558, 679, 633, 695, 718, 800). Is something missing which should be covered in 2021?
Of course there is the opportunity to produce different designs for new applications (such as the recent 950 and 1100 wings).
