Any plans on a stiffer 90ish cm mast? I'm thinking about getting the 82cm but I really don't want to go shorter.
I had wondered the same thing. Moses recently made the 72cm and 82cm stiffer masts for use with the surf wings... A 92cm stiffer surf mast would also be good for use with kiting on a surf wing.

They have a new 72 mast with C40 construction, no idea what it means. 200 euros cheaper than the new surf mast so its interesting. Guessing it's slightly heavier but lighter than alu.

Maybe they will roll it out in a longer mast in the future.

Just few words of caution on new 72/82 masts:
- they’re not pointed back so you’ll need to mount the mast 30mm further back to keep your feet at same position
- they’re visibly thicker than the old ones
- there’s an extra pair of mount hole which you’d think would be 140mm spaced away from rear pair, yet it’s 137 mm spaced. Also the pair is at front allowing you to move the mast further forward while lack of rake would rather make you want to mount it further back (e.g. on original Dwarfcraft Micro)

Positively yet the 72/82 masts are reported to be much stiffer, they have nicely rounded trailing edge and 82 covers the gap between 71cm and 91cm mast lengths

Guys i am planning to purchase new foil.. looking at the moses 633... is this a good one for light to mid (10 to 20 knots )winds or would you suggest something else??? I am 63kg... i use my foil mostly for freeriding... not crazy about racing... or should i consider taking 679???
also should i get carbon mast or just go with alu and save some money.. is there a big difference?

Please advise
I'm a lot heavier than you and learning on the 633. I think the Aluminum mast if fine. I originally got the carbon 101 mast for the main spot I would be foiling. Deep water with on average 2" bay swell. Due to the shutdowns that spot was closed down so I got the 75cm for the shallow spot that has remained open and later for surfing with it. The aluminum is just heavier to carry that is it. For right now I am content just using it even in deep water. The price difference between it and the 81cm was $500 and I just got the Moses mast/fuselage combo. For some reason the aluminum mast needs a different fuselage.

As for the 633 at the top end of the foil I have a hard time keeping it in the water. I weigh 90-100kg too lazy to look up the conversion right now. I even have it shimmed a little bit and it needs a lot of front foot pressure at higher speeds. No clue on the 679.

the new 82cm Moses mast which I have.
by observations differ slightly.
when I stand my 101 and 82 cm masts up on a flat surface to compare the 82 and 101 to see if they differ in their angle, I find they are exactly the same, and mast placement is exactly the same, feels exactly right in the same place for both.

what extra mount holes? mine have just 4 holes as normal

has the 72 been made in the new way the 82cm mast has? I don't know, but I believe the 72 is the same old 72cm mast from 2 years back.

I cant praise the new 82cm Moses mast enough, I forget at times that its my short mast as it just works so well, 82cm is a magical length, where the 72cm is just too short for many of us to be happy with.

On pictures the 82cm is in front of 91cm mast and 82cm mast pedestal with extra holes.
I received mine new wrapped in plastic.

The 91cm mast is slightly angled back while 82cm mast is just straight with zero angle

Regarding the 72cm, although I do plan to get an 82cm, I will say that it has become my favorite mast. It is not too short for me! I ride it for everything from the 873 to the 637 on the 72cm.

Don't discount it quite yet!

I will say that the 82cm might be better, might be. But, I find the 72cm to be just awsome!

well look at that!
you do have a different 82cm mast, mine lines up with my 101 mast and it only has 4 mounting holes.

I did get one of the first in the UK, maybe the first production which they have changed slightly, I wonder if the weights differ like the early versions of some of the wings
mine weighs in at exactly 1464 grams, no screws

I ordered a 82cm today, but I'll check my 72cm to see how it lines up...

Mine is 1435 grams without bolts and there’s zero rake on it. If you align it against a wall and measure distance it’ll be exactly same as if you turned it 180 degrees and measured the same
