I’ve been riding 695 (initially with 330, then with race stabilizers 420-425) since my past January La Ventana trip and it became my main wing right there and then pushing 679 to become secondary and rather light-lightwind wing to use.
695 is awesome and two of my friends switched to it - one from 590, another from 683s
I’m debating completely abandoning surf fuselage and using surf wing to kite fuselage adapter for lightest of the winds

Hey guys,

I'm looking to get into foiling. No previous foiling experience and I have a gong setup with a 65cm mast.
To compliment my foil I was considering the T65 but my local dealer suggested to get a T38 instead. I'm about 75kg (165lbs). Any thoughts on this ? I'm aware it will make the learning process more painful, but by what factor ? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Learning to foil takes days and those first days you’d appreciate large board and then once you’re flying you’d hate the bulkiness of it. 125cm of T38 is already large and I certainly wouldn’t recommend to go bigger than that.
A buddy of mine learnt on 107cm board and that’s his board to keep. Foiling is about flying.

I've learnt with a T38R and it's been great. Having tried some other boards now i realise just how great it's nose rocker is and because it isn't excessively large it's easier to manoeuvre. So it's a thumbs up from me!

I’ve been on 800 wing for last 4 days and then switched back to (my beloved) 695 to feel the difference. More of 800 riding today and next two days

Major takeaways:
- 800 can hold speed better, way more stable. Got to 29.87 mph with 5m SST and could go faster
- 800 has more lift and very nice lowend (yet it stalls at certain point - it’s not a 1500 sq.cm wing after all)
- damn 800 sings like a braking train. High pitch whining the faster I go. Past two attempts to sand the trailing edge helped a bit but only a little bit. Sanded it again this morning and will see how it goes

Switching to 695 felt a bit disappointing after four days on the 800

Thanks for the post Grigorb. I haven't ridden my 800 yet. But, a guy I talked to this weekend wings with his. Might be a "both wing", not sure yet. I did test out the 1000 yesterday on a kite. It worked, but boring, and too roll stable, and kinda slow. The 1000 is really fun on the wing, but not on the kite. I did try the 695 winging too, and it was fun but I had to hold down a huge wing which was a major drawback and got my arms tired. So my assumption is that the 800 might be similar, or better.

Do you consider the 800 a race wing? Anything like the 637? Thanks!

Third attempt to sand the 800 wing and it went completely silent. One would expect it to be done at the factory but it’s fun to succeed in what manufacturers can’t do.

It’s an amazing wing. My new favorite. I guess the next one to get would be the 671
