Besides the v bottom
My transition plate is tapered front to back so it's thicker in back,it sets the board ride attitude to match the fuselage
I think they put the v bottom on all the way to help promote prone surf foiling.

successfully mountend a moses foil to a galaxy board without the plastic transition plate. the laminate will go flat when you tightne the screws and it comes back up after you take it off.
wouldnt do it with a liquidforce mast collor plate though as hey have way sharper edges compared to the moses base plate...

You've delaminated and/or crushed the eps under the laminate. This isn't a good idea to do.

I would just spray adhesive a thin piece of foam to the foil mast plate that’s what another kiter did...and I did as well works perfect
